~Author of The Four Suitors~

Sophie Jupillat Posey is a Rollins College alumna who has had several of her poetry and short stories published in various literary magazines. She writes traditional and contemporary poetry, genre and literary short stories, and sci-fi and fantasy novels. Her next steps in her writing journey are to publish her novels.

Her dreams for writing started when she was four years old. Always with her nose in a book, she proclaimed from her seat at the kitchen table while reading Snow White that she wanted to “make” books one day. From writing poetry in 4th grade to writing mystery stories as presents for family to starting a science fiction series while vacationing at the beach at the age of 11, her love of writing has never stopped.

In college, Sophie had the luck to be mentored by writers such as Peter Selgin and Carol Frost. Sophie was a part of the Winter with the Writers festival at Rollins, where she improved her craft, and met encouraging and skilled writers such as Karen Russell and N. Scott Momaday. It was also there that she met the man who would become her husband.

In 2014 she published her first poem “Black and White” and since then publications in literary magazines have been ongoing. Her work can be explored on this website.

She is a member of Sigma Tau Delta. In 2015 she received the Nina O’ Dean award for her work and research in English literature.

Since graduation she has been working on two fantasy novels; a YA literary novel about emotional abuse and healing heavily inspired by her own experience with emotional abuse; and several science fiction short stories.
